It mostly depends on who owns the company, they mostly have guidelines which don’t come across with journalism ethics. Neutralism has almost no place anymore. And that is why copying and pasting from online sources which are probably giving incorrect information is now a very common step in writing news.

Thanks for your comments on my posts.

Hypocrisy does, indeed, run rampant in our society. It is sad that we, as voters, are reduced to voting for the lesser of the evils. In an interview with Joy Behar, Jesse Ventura was asked if someone were to put his a gun to his head, would he vote for Romney or Obama. He said he’d take the bullet. On the international level, in terms of global economics, I think Milton Friedman’s economic philosophy and those who embrace the “Chicago school” of economic theory caused a lot of the world’s problems. Naomi Klein, in her book “The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism,” traces the effects of it since its origin. If you haven’t yet read it, it is a MUST read – real eye-opener that ties everything together, such as wars, the IMF, the fractional reserve banking system, etc.

On another note, it is sad to hear about RS Janes’ passing away and thanks for your comment on that. There are now big shoes to fill here on the BartBlog.

Oh dear, I somehow missed this post until now. I am sorry to hear this news. Rick’s graphics were a great contribution to this blog and he always had nice things to say about my work. He will be sorely missed. To anyone who knows Rick, I offer my utmost condolences. RIP.

Thanks Jane! I hope Obama comes around after he wins the election and puts an end to this nonsense. I think that the real reason that Israel and the neo-cons are pushing for war with Iran has more to do with economics than nukes. Can’t let them sell their oil in any currency other than petro-dollars, huh?

Even my late father, a conservative Republican who served in WWII, would never have gone along with giving corporations this much power, especially the power to affect our food supply far into the future. I just don’t know what these righties are thinking — or not thinking, as the case may be.

Jane, the corporations are trying to drive the US into serfdom, including having chidlren compete with adults for unskilled or low-skilled jobs at ‘Grapes of Wrath’ wages. It’s also clear they don’t care much if people are forced into crime to feed themselves — it benefits the private prison industry, and so sends more public money into private corporate coffers. The only thing is: without a viable middle-class, who is going to be paying the taxes to support the private prisons andd bail out the large corporations when they fail? Like the spoiled aristocracy of every age, this current crop haven’t thought this through, letting the gleam of gold obscure their vision.

BTW, one theory I heard is that Monsanto has been collecting and preserving healthy bee populations to prevent ordinary people from growing their own crops. Once the wild bees have died off, Monsanto will have the only bees capable of poliinating crops and have their foot on the neck of the world’s food supply. I hope it isn’t true, but I also can’t completely discount it — after all, they developed seeds that can only be used once and then the farmer has to buy new seed for next year’s planting.
