Ugly and disturbing stats, Jane. Just two things: 1.) the only person Junior spared the death penalty as Gov. of Texas was serial killer Henry Lee Lucas while he let inmates with much less evidence against them go to their deaths; 2.) William Novelli, the director of AARP from 2001 to 2009, was formerly with Porter Novelli PR and Marketing that had a long list of Big Pharma clients, and he worked as a GOP operative, as well. The AARP had long been a thorn in the GOP side, so they got rid of it by sneaking in their quisling Novelli who basically defanged the organization. I seem to recall a Right Wing alternative to the AARP. Seems they thought the AARP too “leftist”.
