I was more speaking about the stories of those who take your satire seriously. The odd or bizarre letters you get.

I now see your point about using the National Enquirer logos. They’re copyrighted & I wouldn’t want to see you get into legal trouble over using it. I guess it’s like Steven Colbert running for “President of the United States of South Carolina”. One has to stay on the safe side.

Db, I’ve been told, since I’m using the National Enquirer’s old, still-copyrighted format as a basis, that it’s legally necessary to prominently include a line that says the piece is satire. Also, it helps defray the occasional idiot who leaves comments such as, “How dare you say good man like Newt Gingrich fucks pigs!” BTW, it’s tempting to try and write the ‘story behind the headline’ on these cartoons. I’ll see if I can come up with anything.

Do you really have to put in the part about this being satire? Are there those who don’t get it? Really think that Newt Gingrich appeared in 1940s comic books?

Can I get even some of those stories?
