Then an angry conservative who calls himself ‘Grimgold’ stood up and angrily said, “This is ridiculous! Clean up this mess. Fix our borders. Build the double fence, now!”

RS, you mistake the matter, Madame! I didn't write that piece. But you are correct especially in the taking away of the magnet - low paying jobs. Rich republicans? I take issue with that - Feinstein is not a repub for example, though very rich and into business. I believe the repubs want the illegals here for the purpose of cheap, under-the-table wages and the democrats want the illegals here for more voters for their people.
All of this still does not mitigate Mexico's double standard as put forth in the article.
Thank you for your response. Grimmy

Gee, Grim, you should lighten up a bit -- inject a little humor in your comments.

Ironically, if the liberal presidential candidate had taken office in Mexico, his reforms would have led to far fewer illegal immigrants to the US but, since Obrador lost to -- or was robbed by -- conservative Bush-clone Felipe Calderon, nothing will be done to alleviate the suffering of the poor and jobless.

Also, the most cost-effective way to handle the immigartion problem isn't multi-billion dollar fences and the like; it's much cheaper to crack down on those hiring illegals; put a few wealthy Republican company presidents and CEOs in jail doing hard time and the problem will quickly come to and end. But the GOP would never do that to its campaign contributors, would they? Much better to blame poor Mexicans and a great cover for all of the rightie racists out there -- "We only want to enforce the law!"

If there were a sudden influx of, say, the Swedish Bikini Team taking all of the crappy low-pay jobs Americans don't want anyway, I wonder if you'd be so angry about immigrants, Grim.
