There’s a nasty decades-old ideological split showing in the Democratic party right now. A simple way to put is: the “creative” class resents the “bitter” class for spending too much time on the messy details of actually getting things done and other non-inspiring trivialities.

I think it was very generous of Hillary to fake being helpless (Hillary helpless??? Give me a break!) at the gas pump to give a working man his moment in the spotlight. Most women have FAKED SOMETHING in their lifetime to give a man’s ego a boost and let him feel good or superior. It is common knowledge that men love showing off their ‘masculine skills’. Obama’s campaign has been really negative. They encourage you to write like that.

The point is the photo-op was a blunder and didn’t necessarily appeal to the people it was supposed to convince. He never called his white grandmother a ‘typical white racist’ — just the reverse. As far as the rest, I can only think you got that from David Horowitz’s neocon Front Page Mag, which unfortunately seems to be one of your major sources for information on Obama.

Zenferret, I think you need to reread my piece more carefully — I said someone else, a member of the working class that Clinton was trying to impress, said that. I wrote: “In these days of color and dress consultants for campaigns, that’s not outside of the realm of possibility.”

I didn’t make up anything — I saw the video clip of her sipping Crown Royal, and it hardly matters how popular it is — the fact is, the shot and a beer guys don’t drink it, and the ones I talked with thought her drinking it was funny.
