I’ve read that some of the Palin family claims against Wooten have been investigated and dismissed. Also, as I posted in The Tattlesnake piece and as Kerry mentioned here, at no point did Palin call the police to have this guy arrested. That’s suspicious, especially for an elected official.

She also didn’t recuse herself from the case, instead using her staff to get this guy fired. He may be guilty as sin, but having the family of the divorced daughter make accusations without proof, especially after a very bitter divorce, and abusing her political power as Gov. is no way to handle this.

I read that 87 percent of Alaskans think Palin is lying about this case. Along with her Ted Stevens connections to Big Oil, this will have McCain reconsidering Palin’s choice in about two weeks. Will he dump her? I don’t know, but the independent prosecutor’s investigation ends four days before the election. Imagine if he decides Palin was lying and abused her power?

“Is it acceptable for an Alaska State Trooper to use his badge and power in these aforementioned ways?”

Is it acceptable for a governor to use her office to settle scores for her family?

Maybe she just likes to fire people? She fired 35(i think) of Murkowski’s last minute appointments.

Palin’s nickname on her HS basketball team was Sarah Barracuda. Wiki says she won the small school championship game with a last second shot on a fractured ankle. The couch in her Gov office has a bear pelt on it!

I agree it could have been vindictiveness. Could have been an ingrained instinct to keep things secret.
It was the judge who said that the man couldn’t make support payments if he was fired
that really annoyed me the most.

Hi Bittershaman, Palin did not state the ex pulled, waved or pointed a gun, only that he was wearing one while her sister and husband argued. The fact that Palin did NOT call the police at the time she was peeping in the window shows that either she was not all that concerned or that she made the whole thing up later. Many charges are made during a divorce from both sides, some true and some not.

When vindictive people don’t get what they want they just keep on adding to the complaint list and nagging.
Don’t ask me how I know!

Hi Bear, I feel that once the case was closed and the ex was not bothering anyone it should be left alone. If you noticed, Palin stated that she “watched them through a window and heard him make the threats” BUT DID NOT CALL THE POLICE! If it really happened and she was soooo concerned about her family’s welfare, why didn’t she call the police then? Much of what Palin put in her later complaints was so petty, unsubstantiated and hearsay that it was obviously grasping at straws in a grudge vendetta. There are usually lots of nasty words and threats made during a separation and divorce, much of which are only said in anger and forgotten once things cool down.

From other articles I get the impression that she is most certainly unaccustomed to not getting her own way, right or wrong, one way or another! The whiny voice tells a lot about her as a person too. At least this morning she wasn’t wearing her Wilma Flintstone hairdo.

Remind me to stay out of Alaska.
Any trailer park resident knows that when the asshole with the gun makes threats you call the cops, not try to get him fired. Just call bigger cops if the asshole is one.
The Governor preaches that men should be in charge, then wonders why no one listens to her.

If I was a Gov and I knew about this POS trooper than I would consider it my duty to have him removed. Him and and any entrenched good old boys trying to cover up for him.

This seems like an argument between what is legal and what is right. I know which side I’m on.

Also this investigation seemed to be started coincidently at the same time Palin was going after some of the crooked Alaskan politicians.
