Period.
There is no ridiclously super- qualified person who just happens to be Republican.
There is a large pool of candidates.
We’re not searching for the political equivilent of Stephen Hawking.

I don’t even mind Colin Powell as Secretary of Defense. He can be competent and honest if he tries.
And forget Ralph Nader. If he wanted national influence he could have run for some other elective office in between presidential runs.
