You know that the more things change,the more they remain the same.
This clip of the famous FDR “Fala the Scott Terrier” rebuttal speech is an example of what has been missing in the national debate.
Slandering the WH dog is as petty and catty then as now.
FDR does a great job of defending the the honor of the family dog against the slanderous accusations from the right wing and stands as an example of fighting the conservative propaganda with simple facts,charm and wit.
Movietone news made a mad hash of the film reel in the editing,still it is history.

Rain, I like that: ‘Office of the Decommpressor General.’ It would also help to have an ombudsman on the Fox News set equipped with a good computer. At any point the ombudsman (or woman) could interrupt to present the facts. (Should do the same during political debates, too.) Of course, Fox News would be out of business in a month and there wouldn’t be many political debates, but I’m looking for the downside here…

If G.W. had done what Obama has accomplished then,the reaction from the cable network news would have been singing the praises of the vision
of the conservatives and the religious right.
In fact He was running up the national debt in a way that made Reagan look like a skinflint.
Almost 10 Trillion dollars over 8 years with 6 trillion of that going to the wealthiest in the form of tax cuts.
A carefully cultivated culture of hypocrisy with billions of dollars of brainwashing in the form of cable network proselytizing as the vehicle.
Unfortunately,tit-for-tat is not a solution to cult programming.
What the Nation needs is a Office of the Decompressor General following the reinstatement of the New Deal including the Fairness Doctrine.
