I agree, Greg, Baucus has got to go. Not sure if Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer would challenge him, but he's fairly progressive and he'd beat Baucus in a walk.

From what I've read, the only reason Baucus was head of that committee was the seniority system in the senate. When Ted Kennedy was incapable of presiding, Baucus was next in line.

BTW, in case you didn't notice, Bernanke gives me a severe case of the ague.

Cool post, RS. Max Baucus is yet another worthless, sold-out politician who is bought and paid for by the health care insurance and drug companies. Whoever put him in charge of anything that has to do with health care reform either wants the reform to fail or is a complete moron. In either case, they ought to have their asses removed and Baucus should be given a dunce cap and made to sit in the corner of the Senate facing the wall for the rest of his term. Let's hope more honest minds prevail before the bill actually reaches Obama's desk. Let's also hope a true progressive can defeat Baucus in the next primary and set an example for the rest of the douchbag DINOs.

Thanks for your insightful comment regarding Bernanke on my Examiner page, RS.
