Former rivals to meet in Unity, N.H.

By NEDRA PICKLER, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON – Former rivals Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama plan to campaign together Friday in the small New Hampshire town of Unity, their first joint appearance meant to ease tensions over the closely fought Democratic primary.

The location, announced Monday, was chosen not only for the symbolism of its name, but because each candidate received exactly 107 votes there in the Jan. 8 primary. Obama spokesman Dan Pfeiffer said the campaign was still working to finalize the site of the rally, which will be open to the public.

Republicans: Vote for us or the terrorists will kill you!

DONT FALL FOR THE FEAR MONGERING LIARS AGAIN.

John Bolton jumps on the fear bandwagon, but does it even matter anymore?

BOLTON: Yeah I think honestly that’s an optimistic view of it, that it will simply be a replay of the Clinton administration. It will simply have more embassy bombings, more bombings of our warships like the Cole, more World Trade Center attacks. That would be the best outcome from that perspective.

Bolton says Obama would bring more WTC attacks  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnjZZQ-8ogM

THE GOLD OF FORT KNOX???

Filed under: Uncategorized — kerry @ 9:22 am

How Much Gold Is In Fort Knox?

This question, to my surprise, has two different answers from two different sets of people who don’t seem to get convinced with each other’s views. Fort Knox, a U.S. military base, is also home to the Bullion Depository better known amongst masses as the Gold Vault of the U.S.A. It was built in 1936 and started operations in 1937 when the process of shifting gold to the depository started in January to proceed to transferring most of the U.S. gold to the site. It has also stored other valuable belongings at various times like original Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, reserves from European countries during World War II and Manga Carta, key documents from western history, the U.S. Constitution, the Articles of Confederation, three volumes of Gutenberg bible and specimens of Sacagawea Dollar coins of 22kt gold. “The facts on paper however remain to be the most dependable answer which is the current value of gold holdings at 147.3 million ounces and no complete audits since 1950′s.”

Doc 100.0.5.2……….10 of 37… About Fort Knox Gold:

In the 1970′s a very courageous gentleman named Edward Durrell claimed that substantially all of the US Gold Reserve being stored at Ft. Knox was gone.

Opiate For the Mrs.

When laws are broken, somebody’s got to be punished.

In the case of Cindy McCain, that somebody is Tom Gosinski

By Amy Silverman, Jeremy Voas

Published on September 08, 1994

You’re U.S. Senator John McCain, and you’ve got a big problem.
Your wife, Cindy, was addicted to prescription painkillers. She stole pills from a medical-aid charity she heads and she used the names of unsuspecting employees to get prescriptions. The public is about to find out about it.
Until now, you’ve managed to keep it all quiet. When Tom Gosinski, a man your wife fired, sued for wrongful termination and threatened to expose the whole sordid story, you didn’t hesitate to call in the big guns.John Dowd, the attorney who got you out of your Keating Five mess, worked on getting your wife a sweetheart deal with federal prosecutors. He also made Gosinski’s lawsuit go away.

He didn’t stop there.
To help maintain your reputation and discredit your wife’s accuser, Dowd called Maricopa County Attorney Richard Romley and complained that Gosinski was trying to extort money. Romley, your Republican ally, promptly launched an extortion investigation.

But now New Times makes a public records request for documents in the extortion case. It’s only a matter of days before the story gets out.

Here’s what the senator does.
He calls in another big gun, political strategist Jay Smith, who conceives a rather remarkable plan.

On August 19–just three days before the records are to be made public–Smith parades your wife before a select group of journalist friends. She tells a tale of pain and triumph, and, incredibly, all the reporters agree to sit on the story until August 22. When Cindy McCain says her confession is intended to quell rumors and to inspire other druggies to turn their lives around, the journalists lap it up. They write about her “bravery.” The first round of stories is one-sided. There is no mention of Tom Gosinski or Romley’s extortion investigation.

But after a week, there is no glossing over huge gaps in the image that has been spun for the public:

• Cindy McCain lied about drug treatment she claims to have undergone. Although she told reporters she went into a residential drug treatment program earlier this year, she told investigators she had treatment during 1991 and 1992. Whom did she lie to–investigators or reporters?

IRS STEALING STIMULUS CHECKS!

Filed under: Uncategorized — kerry @ 8:41 pm

Bush Stimulus Payment Plans to Be

Thwarted for Millions by IRS

Stimulus Checks Due for Delivery This Month for Many – Will Never Arrive as Cash Payments

Any taxpayer having a dispute with the IRS will most likely find their stimulus check held up or paid in an unexpected manner. Taxpayers, who have already received letters advising them of past taxes due, will have the value of their stimulus checks credited against the payments the IRS says is owed.Although the stimulus package is designed to stimulate the economy the IRS has coordinated with the Treasury department to attach and seize payments that should have been sent to millions of taxpayers. On checking with the IRS it was learned that even taxpayers who have not agreed with the IRS on the amount of back taxes, interest and penalties owed may find they receive no stimulus checks.

Complaints to the IRS about this unilateral policy have met with a reaction akin to running into a stonewall. No justification has been given for the policy except to say that repayments to the US Government take priority. The IRS states the individuals to whom this apply are receiving their stimulus payments but not in the form of cash. The IRS considers the payments as credits against past amounts due as legal and legitimate.Taxpayers who find themselves in this situation should immediately contact their congressional representatives in both the House and Senate.

John McCain’s Secret Medical Records Revealed

After more than a year of stalling, John McCain is finally making his medical records public. However, the process by which he is releasing the data suggests that he hopes it doesn’t become too public. His campaign has chosen the Friday prior to the three day Memorial Day weekend for the document dump. Even worse, they are restricting access to the records to a three hour period wherein the reporters may take notes, but will not be allowed to take photos or make copies. That’s three hours to read and analyze 400 complex medical documents. The campaign also restricted the access to two newspapers, two wire services, and the national TV news networks. Prominent news organizations like the New York Times, Newsweek, the Wall Street Journal, etc., were not invited. Neither were smaller players like McClatchy, weekly newspapers, alternative press, or anyone from the Internet.

However, News Corpse has acquired some of the classified records that McCain hoped would remain secret. Below is an exclusive document leaked from McCain’s medical team:

McCain confused about his own energy policy

By: Steve Benen on Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

It just keeps getting worse with the Arizona senator. From his press conference yesterday:

QUESTION: The European Union has set mandatory targets on renewable energy. Is that something you would consider in a McCain administration? […]

MCCAIN: Sure. I believe in the cap-and-trade system, as you know. I would not at this time make those — impose a mandatory cap at this time. But I do believe that we have to establish targets for reductions of greenhouse gas emissions over time, and I think those can be met.

As Kate Sheppard explained, McCain new position is “completely out of line with his own proposal for a cap-and-trade scheme, both the plan he proposed with Joe Lieberman last year and his own presidential plan, released last month. They both would, by nature, be mandatory — hence the ‘cap’ in the name.”

In other words, McCain doesn’t understand his own policy. Or, as hilzoy noted, “The best you can say for McCain, on this point, is that he is completely unfamiliar with what is supposed to be one of his signature issues. Not knowing what ‘mandatory cap’ means, in this context, is like not knowing what a ’strike’ is in baseball.”

McCain’s All-Lobbyist Express

John McCain’s All-Lobbyist Express

The past few weeks has brought repeated announcements from the campaign of pseudo-maverick John McCain regarding the dismissal of staff members due to their lobbying activities. It’s not enough that McCain raises more money with the help of lobbyists than any other presidential candidate…

Nope, McCain also employs so many lobbyists that there seems to be a new one falling from the campaign tree every week. Amongst those having taken their leave so far are Doug Goodyear, Doug Davenport, Eric Burgeson, and Craig Shirley. The latest casualty is the campaign’s national finance co-chairman, Thomas Loeffler. Hanging low on the branch are super-lobbyists Charlie Black and campaign manager Rick Davis. Media Matters has compiled a superb list of even more tainted McCain staffers.

And speaking of McCain staffers with ties to lobbying, the announcement of Loeffler’s departure was made by Tucker Bounds, McCain’s deputy communications director. Bounds recently left his position with the American Insurance Association to join McCain’s campaign. The AIA is the “leading property-casualty insurance trade organization, representing 350 insurers that write more than $123 billion in premiums each year.”

This relationship raises an interesting question: Since Bounds, the McCain spokesperson, is himself bound to a major lobbying group, will he be called upon to announce his own dismissal?
