BLOWING IN THE WIND

A nineteenth-century folktale tells about a person who went about slandering the town’s wise man.
One day, he went to the wise man’s home and asked for forgiveness.
The wise man, realizing that this man had not internalized the gravity of his transgressions, told him that he would forgive him on one condition: that he go home, take a feather pillow from his house, cut it up, scatter the feathers to the wind and return when done to the wise man’s house.
Though puzzled by this strange request, the man was happy to be let off with so easy a penance. He quickly cut up the pillow, scattered the feathers and returned to the house.
“Am I now forgiven?” he asked.
“Just one more thing,” the wise man said. “Go now and gather up all the feathers.”
“But that’s impossible. The wind has already scattered them.”
“Precisely,” he answered. “And it is as impossible to repair the damage done by your words as it is to recover the feathers. Your words are out there in the marketplace, spreading hate, even as we speak.”
McCAIN MAY HAVE HAD A CHANGE OF HEART BUT THE DAMAGE HE AND PALIN HAVE DONE WILL LIVE FOREVER IN THE HEARTS OF BIGOTS, HATEMONGERS, AND RACISTS. AND ON THE INTERNET!

THE McPALIN EFFECT!

Keep The N*gger Out Of Office”
After a week of McCain supporters being incited to shout “kill him!” and “terrorist!” and “treason!“, a man in Louisiana was arrested for threatening to kill election officials. The Smoking Gun has his arrest report and mug shots. It seems his voter registration card was delayed, and he was insistent that he would bring his shotgun to their office and kill them if they didn’t hurry up because he needed to “keep the n*gger out of office.”Look at the photo.

Execs’ posh retreat after bailout angers lawmakers
By ANDREW TAYLOR, Associated Press Writer Tue Oct 7, 10:57 PM ET
WASHINGTON – Days after it got a federal bailout, American International Group Inc. spent $440,000 on a posh California retreat for its executives, complete with spa treatments, banquets and golf outings, according to lawmakers investigating the company’s meltdown.
AIG sent its executives to the coastal St. Regis resort south of Los Angeles even as the company tapped into an $85 billion loan from the government it needed to stave off bankruptcy. The resort tab included $23,380 worth of spa treatments for AIG employees, according to invoices the resort turned over to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.

‘MAIN STREET’ HOCKEY PUCKEY!

Apparently, your everyday, hard working hockey mom is worth about 1.2 million
ALASKA – REPUBLICAN vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and her husband have pieced together a uniquely Alaskan income that reached comfortably into six figures even before she became governor, capitalising on valuable fishing rights, a series of land deals and a patchwork of other ventures to build an above-average lifestyle.
Add up the couple’s 2007 income and the estimated value of their property and investments and they appear to be worth at least US$1.2 million (S$1.7 million).
