The Tattlesnake — Swiftie JFK Tutu Redux and Slimus Returns Edition

– Kerry As Dumb As Ever: The AP reported Nov. 16th that Texas oil prick T. Boone Pickens has offered $1 million to anyone who can prove that the allegations against John Kerry made by the Swift Boat Veterans for ‘Truth’ in 2004 are false. Idiot Kerry quickly took him up on his offer, with the pay-off to be donated to the Paralyzed Veterans of America. Here’s why Kerry’s an idiot, playing into his opponents’ hands once again, and why Pickens will never pay out a dime: Most of the ‘charges’ against Kerry were not based on facts but personal recollections, although contrary to the official record. So how do you prove some bitter rightie lunatic’s memories are false and that he was lying when he said it, especially when he’s spent his adult life delusionally blaming you for ‘losing’ the war? Almost impossible, and the charges that can be refuted factually by Navy records will be dismissed by Pickens, as they were in 2004. Just like Bush’s grandiose promises to make sure returning vets had the best health care in the world and that the US would throw billions at Africa’s AIDS problem, Pickens’ offer was a typical neocon feint to get headlines, counting on the average mook thinking, “Gee, if some guy is gonna put up a million bucks those charges must be true!” and then not following up to find out what happened. It’s another Rovian water-cooler rumor assault and it’s probably just as well that Kerry never made it to the Oval Office if he’s going to blunder into traps like this — didn’t it even occur to him that the guy who is going to decide what facts of his to accept is money-man Pickens?

– Ho, Ho, Ho: The AP also reported that washed up ‘cowboy’ jock Don Imus — oh, right, he has a goofy ten-gallon hat and a luxury ranch in the Southwest so he must be a real cowboy, just like Junior — will return to radio on neocon-air WABC-AM in New Yawk City Dec. 3rd. (Hey, maybe he’ll have his “I’m Back!” party at Sylvia’s in Harlem? “More muthafukin’ iced tea here, you nappy-headed ho!”) The hilarious part is, his new radio show is also going to be simulcast on TV, just as it was in the days when MSNBC could still stand his stench, and the ‘network’ that will be carrying the King of Soft Racism is none other than Nashville-based Rural Media Group’s cable/satellite channel RFD-TV. Take a quick guess who the prime audience is for such RFD fare as “The Cattle Show,”* “National Tractor Pulling,”* and “Choke My Chicken!” Imus signed a five-year deal with RFD and I’m sure his new audience of early risers can’t wait: “Mother, put that ‘Ho’ fella on in the pig pen; the porkers seem to like it when he talks.” Say, Tucker Carlson’s on his way out at MSNBC, too — maybe he can find a TV home at RFD as well. “Whut’d he say his first name is?”

*Actual shows on RFD.

  1. The interesting fact is that Imas isn’t one of your beloved “neo-cons” (I am one, so I know). He’s just a ‘shock jock’ dearly loved by some people – fewer I hope.
Did you know how John Kerry got one of his purple hearts? He was funnin’ in Vietnam: he pulled the pin, stuffed the hand grenade into a barrel of rice, turned around, bent over, and stuck his fingers in his ears. His bony old ass was accurately aimed in the direction of bulleting rice when the grenade went off. Then he demanded a purple heart after he’d picked out bits of rice from his democrat hind end.
He reminds me a lot of GW.

  2. Grim, read my item again carefully; nowhere did I say that Imus was a neocon — I said he was the King of Soft Racism — that’s been his ‘shock’ as a disc jockey. (He make not actually even be a racist in his private life; he just exploits it for ratings.)

BTW, your take on Kerry’s Purple Heart — that’s not what the official Navy record says, but thanks for repeating the Bush campaign’s Swift Boat slurs of 2004. (I thought you didn’t like Bush Junior.) The fact is, Kerry put himself in danger to save an Army soldier’s life in Vietnam — the soldier and Kerry’s crew, as well as the official US Navy record, say so — and for that he should be applauded, no matter what you think of him or his politics.

If the disgusting and unprincipled Rove hadn’t have been so desperate in 2004 to get the election close enough so that they could steal it in Ohio, there would have been no Swift Boat Vets telling lies about Kerry’s service record.

  3. Go here for the official whitehouse.gov
explanation of how Bush has no affiliation with the swifferboat veterans for truth:
    http://www.whitehouse.org/news/2004/082704.asp
That ought to clear it up once and for all.
