No More Whining, Bart! Grimgold

Filed under: Uncategorized — grimgold @ 12:30 pm

Bart whines that the Republicans are successfully labeling the Democrats as “Al Queda enablers,” and that Democrats can’t seem to come up with successful ways to stop Bush’s “Nazi ass” and halt “the monsters.”

This is easy stuff, Children.

Instead of attacking head on, like that silly Murtha, or the even more emotional and less thoughtful Sheehan; attack indirectly.
“But how?” you might whine, following in Bart’s footsteps.

I repeat, that’s simple, Tadpoles!

You must win elections like you did last time, and in order to win elections you must have the best platform consisting of ideas that will most greatly improve America! And I have some that I will list for you free of charge.
But first, my Little Fonts of Innocence, a basic principle:
Anger leads to hatred and hatred leads to petrified, calcified thought. This then leads to the inability to innovate; to come up with fresh ideas.
Now, I admit that nasty stuff like the last minute releasing of the news concerning GW and alcohol, works. But long term, the party with the most beneficial ideas wins.

Need I tell you we are all Americans? I love this country more than the Republican Party and I don’t hate you. You are not my enemy – those who don’t vote and don’t care about America are the ones we all need to be concerned about.
So here are some of my ideas for improving America. Now, please cease this juvenile hatred, this long term anger, and begin developing the New Democrat Party – the party of answers, the party of accountability and solutions, the party of vision.

Eliminate the oil depletion allowance tax credit.
The alternative fuels, biodiesel and ethanol, have strongly emerged onto the market, eliminating the need for an oil company tax break. Biodiesel production, for example, has grown from 500,000 gallons in 1999, to over 250,000,000 gallons in 2006 and will at least triple that in 2007.
Get all troops out of countries where they are not needed, such as Japan, Germany and especially France.
Attention federal govt! World War Two is over!
Require television stations to run campaign ads free of charge.
For decades, television stations have been required by the FCC to feature news and weather programming “in the public interest.” The same treatment for television campaign ads would take away a great deal of the need for candidates to raise such massive amounts of money.
Eliminate agriculture subsidies.
With the additional product market provided by biodiesel and ethanol, farmers have no need to be paid not to grow produce.
Explore the idea of a national initiative process.
Perhaps certain problems should be addressed by the voters directly because Congress is politically afraid.
Require all foreign language television programming in this country to have English subtitles.
This is an English speaking country.
Turn HEW from a bloated beaucracy into a small oversight agency.
The Dept. of Health, Education, and Welfare has the dubious honor of being one of the most wasteful and ineffective. It deserves to die.
Demand that the Fed return to a non-inflating currency. Period.
Economists are intimidating. They have also failed. Our inflation over the last 80 years is embarrassing, costly, and unnecessary. Only the federal govt benefits from inflation.
Explore the idea of a national sales tax, completely eliminating the individual federal income tax.
This ties taxes to the economy giving government incentive to come up with excellent economic policy.

  1. Health Education and Welfare hasn’t existed since 1979. Now there’s the Department of Education and the Department of Health and Human Services.

  2. Blackcat, thanks for the correction. Do you see my drift? There is an overwhelming number of things the Dems can do to improve the country – I listed a few.
