Former rivals to meet in Unity, N.H.

By NEDRA PICKLER, Associated Press Writer

Jun 23, 5:23 PM ET

WASHINGTON – Former rivals Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama plan to campaign together Friday in the small New Hampshire town of Unity, their first joint appearance meant to ease tensions over the closely fought Democratic primary.

The location, announced Monday, was chosen not only for the symbolism of its name, but because each candidate received exactly 107 votes there in the Jan. 8 primary. Obama spokesman Dan Pfeiffer said the campaign was still working to finalize the site of the rally, which will be open to the public.

Republicans: Vote for us or the terrorists will kill you!

DONT FALL FOR THE FEAR MONGERING LIARS AGAIN.

John Bolton jumps on the fear bandwagon, but does it even matter anymore?

BOLTON: Yeah I think honestly that’s an optimistic view of it, that it will simply be a replay of the Clinton administration. It will simply have more embassy bombings, more bombings of our warships like the Cole, more World Trade Center attacks. That would be the best outcome from that perspective.

Bolton says Obama would bring more WTC attacks  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnjZZQ-8ogM

George Carlin is Dead at 71 of Heart Failure

Requiem for a Heavyweight

More so than a deceased president or a news talk-show host, George Carlin had tremendous influence on American culture, yet you won’t see days of mourning for him on TV, except perhaps on Comedy Central, and you won’t find any magical rainbows sprouting from his funeral service, except perhaps in an oil slick on the surface of the East River. Such is the way America treats its truly great.

Like his predecessor Lenny Bruce, Carlin went from being an ‘acceptable’ nightclub comic who appeared on such mainstream television programs as The Ed Sullivan Show in the early 1960s – remember Al Sleet the Hippy Dippy Weatherman? – to a mordant social satirist who held up a mirror to the false morals, ditzy mores and blatant hypocrisy of the American Power Structure and made ‘The Suits’ uncomfortable while he entertained their kids and made them think. He pioneered the modern one-man arena comedy show – no band, no music, no props, just one lone guy rambling back and forth across a vast stage doing his ‘shtick’ – and pulled it off with brilliance, although the tradition springs from his comic brethren Mark Twain’s pomposity-puncturing lectures in the late 19th century. I saw him at the old McCormick Place in Chicago in the early ’70s and, even though my friends and I were in nosebleed balcony seats and Carlin was smaller than my little finger down on the stage, we heard every word clearly and I laughed until my sides ached – it remains the funniest live comedy show I’ve ever seen, all two hours of it.

THE GOLD OF FORT KNOX???

How Much Gold Is In Fort Knox?

This question, to my surprise, has two different answers from two different sets of people who don’t seem to get convinced with each other’s views. Fort Knox, a U.S. military base, is also home to the Bullion Depository better known amongst masses as the Gold Vault of the U.S.A. It was built in 1936 and started operations in 1937 when the process of shifting gold to the depository started in January to proceed to transferring most of the U.S. gold to the site. It has also stored other valuable belongings at various times like original Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, reserves from European countries during World War II and Manga Carta, key documents from western history, the U.S. Constitution, the Articles of Confederation, three volumes of Gutenberg bible and specimens of Sacagawea Dollar coins of 22kt gold. “The facts on paper however remain to be the most dependable answer which is the current value of gold holdings at 147.3 million ounces and no complete audits since 1950′s.”

Doc 100.0.5.2……….10 of 37… About Fort Knox Gold:

In the 1970′s a very courageous gentleman named Edward Durrell claimed that substantially all of the US Gold Reserve being stored at Ft. Knox was gone.

Opiate For the Mrs.

When laws are broken, somebody’s got to be punished.

In the case of Cindy McCain, that somebody is Tom Gosinski

By Amy Silverman, Jeremy Voas

Published on September 08, 1994

You’re U.S. Senator John McCain, and you’ve got a big problem.
Your wife, Cindy, was addicted to prescription painkillers. She stole pills from a medical-aid charity she heads and she used the names of unsuspecting employees to get prescriptions. The public is about to find out about it.
Until now, you’ve managed to keep it all quiet. When Tom Gosinski, a man your wife fired, sued for wrongful termination and threatened to expose the whole sordid story, you didn’t hesitate to call in the big guns.John Dowd, the attorney who got you out of your Keating Five mess, worked on getting your wife a sweetheart deal with federal prosecutors. He also made Gosinski’s lawsuit go away.

He didn’t stop there.
To help maintain your reputation and discredit your wife’s accuser, Dowd called Maricopa County Attorney Richard Romley and complained that Gosinski was trying to extort money. Romley, your Republican ally, promptly launched an extortion investigation.

But now New Times makes a public records request for documents in the extortion case. It’s only a matter of days before the story gets out.

Here’s what the senator does.
He calls in another big gun, political strategist Jay Smith, who conceives a rather remarkable plan.

On August 19–just three days before the records are to be made public–Smith parades your wife before a select group of journalist friends. She tells a tale of pain and triumph, and, incredibly, all the reporters agree to sit on the story until August 22. When Cindy McCain says her confession is intended to quell rumors and to inspire other druggies to turn their lives around, the journalists lap it up. They write about her “bravery.” The first round of stories is one-sided. There is no mention of Tom Gosinski or Romley’s extortion investigation.

But after a week, there is no glossing over huge gaps in the image that has been spun for the public:

• Cindy McCain lied about drug treatment she claims to have undergone. Although she told reporters she went into a residential drug treatment program earlier this year, she told investigators she had treatment during 1991 and 1992. Whom did she lie to–investigators or reporters?
