Yeah, db, it looks less and less like she’ll run. Even the DC pundits are noticing she just seems to be playing a game to get publicity and they’re the last to know what’s going on.
Is This Tomorrow was both a comic cover and an anti-Communism scare poster from 1947, artist and writer unknown. The legend in the box was “American under Communism!” and it was published by the ‘Catechetical Guild Educational Society,’ an uber-Catholic group. Here are two links to read the comic:
Thanks for the link, I read the comic. I notice that the communists had to take out Harry Truman first. He wouldn’t have put up with that communist stuff; but Sam Rayburn as a fellow traveler? Nah.
It was interesting because in the left part, you had a whit guy hitting the black guy & in the right, the black guy choking the white one. The comic really played down the race issue.
I stopped off here on my way to admit defeat on Fishink, but here will do.
You were right. I was wrong. Sarah Palin will not run for President; nor will she win 5 primaries/caucases.
Now, for paying off: as an administrator to this site, you have access to my underlying e-mail. Send me an e-mail & I will make suggestions for paying off my debt.
I’m so impressed with your integrity, db — you didn’t try to weasel, evade or qualify the bet — that I’m going to forget it. You don’t owe me a thing. What was the other bet — you have Romney for the nomination, I think? Let’s concentrate on that one.
Thank you, I don’t recall receiving a higher compliment.
I might have lost the bet, but dinners with intelligent, creative people are well worth the price of picking up the tab. But if the mechanics won’t work, I’ll donate $100 to the Central Union Mission of a city you designate (and please provide phone number or at least address). Around here they run the homeless shelter & provide meals to the homeless. I figure $100 is two meals for us at $50 per.
Neat cover, what was the original comic? It looks interesting enough to read.
I’ll throw in the towel on the Sarah Palin bet at the end of October; both ends of it. Though I still think I’m good on the Romney end.

db, I’ll email you tomorrow about making a donation, but it’s really not necessary.
