Harsh RS. But I’m not sure I get the point. The 4th panel is so radically different than the first three, that I’m not sure where you are going with it.
db, the fourth panel was just for laughs (at least I got a laugh out of it), and to show Romney really isn’t a Christian, Mormon or whatever he claims to be. But I should have had Romney shout ‘Yes!’ to the outrageous stuff in the fourth panel. I realized later that probably would have been funnier.
My idea of funny would have Jesus ask Perry, “Now what exactly about “Thou Shall Not Kill” didn’t you understand?”. It works with Newt & “Thou Shall Not Covet” with Jesus holding Newt’s $600,000 Tiffany’s bill.
Now I’ve heard about the “is Mormonism a Cult?” issue. (ans. depends on definition of cult) I’ve heard the “Is Romney a Christian?” issue. (ans. depends on definition of Christian). I’ve not heard anyone seriously challenge Perry’s devotion to his brand of Christianity & so your later cartoon with him seeking out help from the Ancient Greek gods confuses me.
Perry’s shown himself in Texas to be a guy who’ll do anything to make money and win elections. I think Perry’s a Christian of convenience, like most politicians, and would abandon it in a heartbeat to fulfill his ambitions. That’s what I was trying to point out in the cartoon. Here’s a link to the Matt Taibbi piece on Perry, if you haven’t had a chance to read it yet:
