It has now become clear to everybody that the voters are seeking change, a new direction. It’s even apparent to Obama and Hillary. Obama is screaming “I am the candidate for change.” Hillary is screaming, “I am the candidate with experience that can do change.” You know what? You are both full of shit. The only candidate in this race that represents change is Dennis Kucinich, and granted, I do not know if he can actually govern but at a minimum he has the right ideas.
Why is he not getting ahead? Oh yeah, he is small in stature, not a GQ cover type. Yeah people! Let’s keep electing candidates based on their hair stylist, (Ronnie really had a great one, that black hair on a 70 year old man was very virile). In that contest it would be a tight race between Mitt and John Edwards. Is that what we really want? I like John Edwards, but should that be the only criteria for the most important job in the world? And believe me after the chimp, it will take a miracle to return our country just to where we were in 2000, it may take a miracle to return it just to 1975. Hey Richard, still dead? Thank God.
But back to the real contenders and who should be the real contenders. Hillary is not change. She is a carbon copy of Nancy Pelosi in many ways. A tin ear, says what you like to hear but in the end, she knows better. Do you really think she will stand up for the people and the outcry for justice that elected her? Her husband didn’t, she will be even weaker. She is much more ingrained, even much more than her husband, in the corporate world that will not benefit the average person.
Obama; sorry dude, there was so much hope for you and now you are reduced to a crying simpering baby screaming that that big bad ugly woman is standing in your way. Screw you man. Show us something or get the F***outa the way. And now your wife is playing the racism card. Don’t get me wrong, I agree with her. You, her and your children standing on that stage as the next first family would really change the world’s perception of the US. But you know what? It would be great if that happened, but I do not think it’s a smart strategy for your camp to bring it up. There are two schools of thought. The real racists, and the people that do not consider this an issue and are sick of hearing it from both sides, and will resent whoever brings it up first.
I have high hopes for Edwards, I believe him and think he is sincere; unfortunately he has the Breck Girl problem to deal with. I do not think he will overcome it.
The rest of the candidates are dinosaurs. Yeah, yeah, they come up with some good lines every now and then, but where were they the last 1000 years they sat in the Senate. Hey Chris, Biden, now we are supposed to get excited about you? After you did nothing but warm up chairs? Give me a break.
So what does that leaves us? Well it leaves us with a selfish asshole that will put kids on a chocolate high to sleep, hell, he’ll put a policy wonk to sleep. But he won the 2000 election but chose not to fight because he did not want people to think he was not a nice guy, so he let his country be overtaken by a criminal mob. Above and before anybody he has a responsibility to right the wrong he allowed.
Since 2000 he has become a legend, and made a fortune. Too bad George McGovern was not that smart. But he has also become so comfortable in his accolades that he is too selfish to run. Great job Al, a true coward. And make no mistake, that will be your legacy, not the internet, not climate warming but how you abandoned your country when it needed you. There are many ways to abandon your country, not all of them involve crossing borders.
OK, but let’s say this schmuck does not come to our rescue. What do we do? Who really represents, change, impeachment, accountability? Nobody else but our very non GQ candidate Dennis Kucinich. Al and Dennis, Dennis and Wesley, Al and Dennis, C’mon people the ticket is not set, we still have a voice.
Al, get off your comfortable ass, you owe us.
Dear GF, you made some awful comments about us sweet republicans (we wouldn’t hurt a fly) and left out the breathtaking incompetence of the democrat presidents in the past, but all that’s forgivable I suppose.
I would point out something you’ve neglected, which is why I’m wasting my time writing to you – our country seemed to do well when we had Bill and a republican majority in Congress.
Rather than looking for a savior, and Al ain’t it though your Richardson may prove to be a good choice, how about looking at you and me? It’s really the people that run this country and over the long run we get what we deserve. Keep up the writing please (I see you write rather than simply post others’ stuff). Sooner or later you will champion a cause that the republicans can get behind as well and you, my dear, will make a difference.
