Sibel Edmonds is the former FBI Turkish language translator who has reported that officials within the US government have conspired to sell (on the black market) nuclear secrets to agents of foreign governments. She has been trying to get her story out there, and as you might imagine, the corrupt corporate media in the US won’t talk about it.
Let me state her assertion again.
US Officials Sold Nuclear Secrets to Agents of Foreign Governments!!!
Among those her website accuses of this high treason are current members of the US Congress Roy Blunt (R-Montana), Dan Burton (R – Indiana), and Tom Lantos (D – California) as well as former Speaker of the House (the US version of a Prime Minister) Dennis Hastert, and other well known insiders and former state department officials Brent Scowcroft, Marc Grossman, Douglas Feith, and Richard Perle.
The US media has ignored this story: the press in other countries understand its significance. The story first broke in the Times of London, now it is being reported around the world. Major articles have been published in major newspapers in Turkey, Israel, India and Pakistan. Everybody knows. The world will no longer listen to US rhetoric about how the so-called “War on Terror” is keeping nuclear technology out of the hand of terrorists. It is safe to assume that the treason reported by Sibel Edmonds led to the nuclear proliferation network of Pakistani icon AQ Khan.
Of all the Bush Administration scandals (there really are too many to count) this one is by far the most serious. There should be an immediate congressional and criminal investigation into Sibel Edmonds’ assertions. If what she says is true, Washington corruption has spread nuclear technology around the world. The price that we the people may have to pay for this corruption could be unimaginable.
Occasionally I run into visitors from Europe (fewer these days) who are shy to discuss what they read daily in their newspapers. Once the ice is broken, though, and they realize you don’t support the Bushistas or the Bush Wars, they express their amazement at what the US media doesn’t even mention in passing, such as the Sibel Edmonds story and this outgrowth of it.
It’s accepted by the Europeans I’ve met that the US government was involved to some degree in allowing 9/11 to happen, that Bush and Cheney should be tried by the International Court for war crimes and violating the Geneva Conventions, and that Bush will try to start a nuclear war in the Mideast before — if — he leaves office.
They actually feel very sorry for us having to live under the Reign of Emperor Junior, and can’t quite figure out hwy we put up with him (I can’t either), but feel the EU, China, Japan and Britain will block him from any further major blunders on the world stage. I hope they’re right.

I think I see that Valerie Plame wilson had to go now and that it just was’nt about some passive/aggressive payback for Joe Wilson trashing the bullshit story of yellowcake and uranium tubes.

Rainlander, there was a story years ago that the real reason the Bushites went after her had to do with her CIA job — preventing nuclear proliferation — and that she and her people had stopped BushCo from planting nukes in Iraq after Saddam fell to justify the invasion.

RS Janes,
Thanks for the reply.
The Bushies are very creative at the art of chicanery, not for nothing does Cheney remind people of Professor Marvel/Wizard of Oz selling
patent nostrums and hiding behind a curtain while operating a huge terror machine.
I wish this all a happy ending but seeing the
events of the past 40 years,I predict it will end badly.
I’ve never had a convenient oppurtunity before to express my admiration for your writing style
which is better described as prose and perspecacity of the current American Dillema.
Makes Me wish I had paid attention in English when I read peoples work with your caliber of talent.
I see that I wrote in a preceeding comment that Sadaam was after Uranium tubes,
I meant aluminium,Sorry.
