Re:Stalinists on the Left
Is the writer of the letter aware that big oil has enough money to build a dozen refineries? Is he aware that Texas would kiss the ass of any company bringing those jobs in? Is he aware it would take ten years to get a drop of oil out of the ANWR?

Can someone PLEASE make the comments section from the page direct one to the comment thread for THAT story? Everytime I try to comment, it’s non sequitur because I’m directed to a different story.

And here I am AGAIN, trying to comment on a story with no reference.

And another comment thread lost.

Yet another. Churchgoers and their bullshit piety is something I might comment on but where?

Robert, I know how you feel about the comments. I’m guessing it might be a time and manpower issue. Comment sections on other sites have become quite nasty lately and moderators would be needed to keep things reasonably civil.
On the other hand, most commenting sections at the big lefty sites have become a little hostile towards anyone who isn’t openly kissing Obama’s ass and a lot of people might be looking for a new virtual home.

Fuck civil. I think anyone who reads this page would eat monkey meat. Bring ‘em on. It’s easier to communicate in close to real time with a comment thread. You can finish a thought before posting, unlike chat where one tends to just send what comes to mind without any editing. It’s faster than email, slower than the phone, and you can deal with more than one thread at once. If the page went to a blog type format, where Bart posts as things come up with everything that falls under that day tag is the day’s page. Some days one or none, some days lots. With comments attached to the actual article. Just sayin’.
