Will some divorce lawyer jump on this excuse?  I wouldn’t doubt it.

Prescription drugs found in drinking water across U.S.

Officials in Philadelphia say testing there discovered 56 pharmaceuticals or byproducts in treated drinking water.

(AP) — A vast array of pharmaceuticals — including antibiotics, anti-convulsants, mood stabilizers and sex hormones — have been found in the drinking water supplies of at least 41 million Americans, an Associated Press investigation shows.

Water providers rarely disclose results of pharmaceutical screenings, unless pressed, the AP found. For example, the head of a group representing major California suppliers said the public “doesn’t know how to interpret the information” and might be unduly alarmed.  *

That is so right.  I was so “unduly alarmed” when I read the water report where I live and found out that the arsenic level was 5 times the safe amount permitted before Dubya and cronies lowered the standard that I bought an automatic inline water distiller for all my cooking and drinking needs.

  1. While this is a serious problem, I found myself reflecting back to the opening episode of the BBC show Torchwood

    Jack:
There you go! I can taste it! Estrogen. Definitely estrogen. Take the pill, flush it away, it enters the water cycle. Feminizes the fish.Goes all the way up into the sky then falls all the way back down onto me. Contraceptives in the rain. Love this planet. Still, ‘least I won’t get pregnant. Never doing that again. How’s it going?
