State GOP Chair Claims McCain Is ‘Kind Of Like Jesus’

Some dingbat state Republican leader says John McCain is “kind of like Jesus.” Because they were both born 2,000 years ago? No! It’s because, according to Georgia Republican Party chairwoman Sue Everhart, John McCain never denounced the United States when he was a war prisoner — just like Christ, when he was in ‘Nam. Ha ha, but McCain did denounce the United States. Explore the idiocy, after the jump.

Today’s Atlanta Journal Constitution offered this nonsense:

“John McCain is kind of like Jesus Christ on the cross,” Everhart said as she began the second day of the state GOP convention. “He never denounced God, either.”

Everhart was praising McCain for never denouncing the United States while he was being tortured as a prisoner of war in Vietnam.

“I’m not trying to compare John McCain to Jesus Christ, I’m looking at the pain that was there,” she said.

Ugh, where to start? How about the last quote, in which the dingbat says she’s not trying to compare Walnuts to Jeebus, even though that’s exactly what she did.

Then, there’s the whole fiction that McCain never denounced the United States for its war against the Vietnamese. Here’s what the International Herald Tribune‘s profile of McCain says:

As a propaganda measure, Hanoi offered to release McCain immediately — leapfrogging his fellow prisoners of war, who were usually freed according to their order of capture. McCain refused to comply; in consequence, he was tortured and forced to sign a statement denouncing US policy.

I never read that part of the Bible where Jesus drops bombs on civilian population and then abandons his gravely ill wife to have an affair with a blond beer “trollop”.

Well, Jesus did hang out with prostitutes and the despised dregs of society, so, like, update it to 2008 and you’ve totally got the McCain-lobbyist thing.

BOMB BOMB BOMB IRAN………………..

Haha, that made me laugh so hard I woke my son up.

I do remember reading somewhere that Jesus might have actually been a guerilla warrior fighting against the Roman occupation. All the “Prince of Peace” stories came 200 years after he died as a away to avoid becoming lion chow.

  2. Bear, I do believe you’re right. LOL

I am puzzled though about why the xtians call JC the “Prince of Peace” when he is alleged (in the book)to have said that was NOT why he was here and then told his followers that if they didn’t have a weapon to “sell their cloak and buy one”. TSK TSK

BTW, about that statement, [ — just like Christ, when he was in ‘Nam.]

I don’t remember anything in THE BOOK ever mentioning JC being in Nam??? ;O)
