OBAMA’S OTHER RAGING SEXIST REVEREND

WHY ARE THESE POLITICALLY ORIENTED CHURCHES STILL ALLOWED TAX FREE STATUS?

Obama distances himself from yet another clergyman

CHICAGO – Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said Thursday that he was “deeply disappointed” by a supporter’s sermon at his church that mocked Hillary Rodham Clinton.

The Rev. Michael Pfleger, a Chicago activist, also apologized for last Sunday’s sermon at Obama’s church, in which he said Clinton’s eyes welled with tears before the New Hampshire primary because she felt “entitled” to the Democratic nomination and because “there’s a black man stealing my show.”

In video circulating on the Internet, Pfleger said the former first lady expected to win the nomination before Obama’s sudden popularity.

“She just always thought that, ‘This is mine. I’m Bill’s wife. I’m white.’ … And then, out of nowhere, came ‘Hey, I’m Barack Obama.” And she said, ‘Oh damn, where did you come from? I’m white. I’m entitled. There’s a black man stealing my show,’” Pfleger said at Trinity United Church of Christ.

He then went on to parody Clinton, sobbing and wiping his face with a handkerchief.

“She wasn’t the only one crying,” he said. “There was a whole lot of white people crying.”

Obama won the Iowa caucuses, the first contest of the nominating season, in January. Days later, Clinton’s eyes brimmed with tears and her voice broke as she talked with New Hampshire voters on the eve of the primary, which she won.

Obama said he was “deeply disappointed” by Pfleger’s comments.

“As I have traveled this country, I’ve been impressed not by what divides us, but by all that that unites us,” he said in a statement. “That is why I am deeply disappointed in Father Pfleger’s divisive, backward-looking rhetoric, which doesn’t reflect the country I see or the desire of people across America to come together in common cause.”

Pfleger, the white pastor of predominantly black Saint Sabina Roman Catholic Church on the city’s Southwest side, said he regretted his choice of words.

“These words are inconsistent with Senator Obama’s life and message and I am deeply sorry if they offended Senator Clinton or anyone else who saw them,” Pfleger said.

Clinton’s campaign denounced Pfleger’s comments.

“Divisive and hateful language like that is totally counterproductive in our efforts to bring our party together and have no place at the pulpit or in our politics,” the campaign said in a statement. “We are disappointed that Senator Obama didn’t specifically reject Father’s Pfleger’s despicable comments about Senator Clinton, and assume he will do so.”

In March, Pfleger invited Obama’s embattled former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, to speak at Saint Sabina, embracing Wright in the church.

Obama recently broke with Wright, who had been his longtime pastor, after video of his sermons blaming U.S. policies for the Sept. 11 attacks and his calls of “God damn America” became fixtures on the Internet and cable news networks and created a political problem for the candidate.

Pfleger, known locally as a community activist and organizer, was arrested in June 2007 with the Rev. Jesse Jackson during a protest outside of a south suburban Chicago gun shop. The criminal trespass charges were later dropped.

He also has hosted Louis Farrakhan, the controversial leader of the Nation of Islam, at St. Sabina and has called him “a gift from God to a sick, sick world.”  http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080530/ap_on_el_pr/obama_pfleger

  1. More outrageous bullshit. Most news stories try to make it look like Pfleger is just some random priest at Obama’s old church. Check out some Chicago Tribune stories, they have a history together both financial and advisory.

The video is disgusting and the crowd thought it was great. Is anyone out there is still wondering why Hillary’s supporters won’t just sit down and shut up? This isn’t just a isolated incident. This hatred is a direct byproduct of Obama’s “movement” and its everywhere. It’s in our churches, schools, workplaces, homes, and all over the media. Anyone who has been looking the other way these past few months should feel ashamed.

Ignoring the stupidity puts all women at risk.

  2. Here is a little sensitivity training for my fellow brutish gentlemen-in-training (yes, you can teach an old bear new tricks):

Supreme Court argument = “sit down and shut up” while waving a coat hanger in your face

A different female VP = women are interchangeable and easily replaced

“Its not women, just this woman” = “hey, she was asking for it”

Don’t even get me started on all the snide references to Hillary’s emotions and mental health. It reminds me too much of women being lobotomized for “hysteria”.

  3. Bear, First, a standing ovation on both #1 and #2!

I have visited hundreds of black “church” websites in the last couple of weeks and shocked to find they are all teaching “Black Liberation Theology” by James Hal Cone. (if you have not read it you should) All seem to glorify the black extremists like Malcolm X, Louis Farrakhan and other black racists/hatemongers. They remind me of the KKK sites and white supremist sites I have visited in the past, just minus a burning cross. I have long known there was racism on both sides but the sexism has become more violent than most pople know and both are out of control extreme.

See “The Real Agenda of Black Liberation Theology”

“Now, suddenly, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright is misunderstood. Suddenly, so-called black liberation theology is misunderstood.

Wright’s successor at Trinity United Church of Christ, the Reverend Otis Moss III, won’t bow to the wishes of “they” to shut up. It begs the question: “Who are they?” The larger white cultural? Or liberals and Democrats who see all this unfavorable publicity hurting the election chances of Barack Obama?

The sad truth is that neither the Reverend Wright nor black liberation theology is being misunderstood.”

  4. Thanks for the links. They give a good idea of what’s coming when the Right starts to unload. That American Thinker site makes a few one-sided leaps of logic. They seem determined to prove that all liberalism is just disguised facism.

I already know a little bit about liberation theology concepts from Latin America. The right wing and Catholic church have been attacking it for decades as it stresses good deeds over good beliefs.* Joey Ratz himself wrote a lot of the criticisms that accused LT of being grounded in Marxism.

This means we will have to listen to people subtly call us Commie rebels for the next few months.

*I’m talking about core theological concepts not the actual deeds of most practitioners.

  5. Oops, looks like I spoke too soon. Obama just resigned from TUCC. Under the Unity Bus they go!

It was nice timing to resign while all the media attention is on the RBC meeting. I like to make all my spiritual decisions in life based on cold political calculation too.

  6. I’m still bitter after watching that farcical kabuki show of a RBC meeting on CSPAN. The DNC and the Democratic party can kiss my entire brown ass.

  7. Hi Bear, I wish more people could look far enough ahead to see that the repugs will crucify Obama if he gets the nomination.
So far he has thrown both ranting preachers under the bus and now his church of 20 years. When the repugs start playing the racist papers and statements of his wife, (who is NOT ‘OFF LIMITS’ to the GOP dirty trick masters in spite of BO’s demands that she is) will he throw her under the bus too?

I don’t have C-span, only what I can get with rabbit ears, and with dial-up it takes 45 min. to 1 hour to download a ten to 12 minute video from Utube. Sometimes longer.

[It was nice timing to resign while all the media attention is on the RBC meeting. I like to make all my spiritual decisions in life based on cold political calculation too.]

Wasn’t it though, timing is everything.

ROFLOL Now about kissing your ‘EBA’, I’ll just have to pass. LOL Please hang in there and don’t give up yet, you still have a great sense of humor and I know from experience it will help see you through these dark days.

Haven’t heard anything from Rainlander for quite a while, hope nothing is wrong.

  8. I’m just a Declined-to-State now.

Independents going to be the most sought after vote this election. Everyone will have to your ass this summer, I highly recommend it.
