Oh, Hail…

Filed under: Quote — Ye Olde Scribe @ 7:14 pm

WASHINGTON, D.C.- For decades, Republicans have had all the fun, eroding the barrier between personal beliefs and public policy and legislating their own faith-based morality as a means of consolidating power. But now another politically active religious group is coming forward and asking for their turn to team up with the GOP to dictate how other people will live their lives- Devil worshipers. That’s right. As it happens, followers of Satan have become a formidable voting bloc in this country since the late 90’s and could soon rise up to challenge evangelical Christians for their place in the GOP hierarchy.

Seems like a perfect match except eating the baby thing. NeoNuts want babies to grow up so they can be starved, taught to automatically agree with everything they say and either be tortured to death, and or worked to death, in sweat shops. Damn pansy ass Satanists want to eat them first? No veal-like humans before you finish all the poor and less than politically incorrect people on your plate!

  1. Satire or not,Satanists at least have the good graces to come right out, look You in the eye and tell You what They intend to do rather than hide
behind the robes of the ultimate hypocrite and lie about helping You when They intend the greatest of evils.

  5. bittershaman2,
    You nailed it.
Heres a link to a rare and poignant video,
The late, great Layne Staley in His last live performance.
Its hard for Me to watch though,Layne is on His last legs and He gives it all He’s got.
    Courage.
I can only hope He has found a peace that
    He never knew in life.

  6. I too have met/known some Satanists. Never had one knock on my door and tell me I was going to hell if I didn’t embrace his particular cult. Never had one sit in my living room and tell me that I was a thief because I did not give 10 percent of my income to some cult leader so he could live like a king (without working). Never had one try to seduce me or rip me off in a business deal. Never had one preach at me. None of the those that I met ever expressed that “I’m better than you because I,m a (insert xtian cult of choice) and you are not”, attitude. None of them believed that war solved anything. None ate babies or sacrificed virgins. They appeared to be rebelling against the phony doctrines of various churches and the archaic biblical myths and enjoyed the shock value of calling themselves Satanists, wearing black clothes, looking mysterious and scaring the bejusus out of superstitious xtians. LOL

  7. Hi Kerry,
I’ve been enjoying the crosswords and the Toons.
Thanks for easing up on the difficulty of them.
Satanist’ are as You and Bittershman2 observed the ultimate protestants, the few that I knew started out in seminary colleges where reading
satanist manifests are required along with the usual scholarly curriculum(read interpretations).

Alright I can’t leave the video above alone, yet.

Layne apparently wrote this realizing His time was near, these are the lyrics to God Am:

Dear god, how have you been then?
    Im not fine, fuck pretending
All of this death your sending
Best throw some free heart mending
Invite you in my heart, then
    When done, my sins forgiven?
    This God of mine relaxes
World dies I still pay taxes

Can I be as my God am
Can you be as God am
Can I be as my God am
God of all my God am

So lord, I see you grinnin
    Must be grand always winning
How proud are you being able
    To gather faith from fable

Can I be as my God am
Can you be as God am
Can I be as my God am
God of all my God am
    God am
    My God am
    God am
    God

    All the respect Im giving
    Shared strength acquired by living
    All blooming life youre feeding
Cant hide sick ones youre weeding

Can I be as my God am
Can you be as God am
Can I be as my God am
God of all my God am
    God am
    God am
    God am

    Cheers,Rain.

  8. Thanks Rain, glad you are enjoying the crosswords and the ‘toons’ too. XOXOXO

Glad you posted the words, I couldn’t understand them in the song.

Here is one that has been a favorite of mine since early childhood, age 7.

    Abou Ben Adhem

Abou Ben Adhem (may his tribe increase!)
Awoke one night from a deep dream of peace,
And saw, within the moonlight in his room,
Making it rich, and like a lily in bloom,
An angel writing in a book of gold:—
Exceeding peace had made Ben Adhem bold,
And to the Presence in the room he said
“What writest thou?”—The vision raised its head,
And with a look made of all sweet accord,
Answered “The names of those who love the Lord.”
“And is mine one?” said Abou. “Nay, not so,”
Replied the angel. Abou spoke more low,
But cheerly still, and said “I pray thee, then,
Write me as one that loves his fellow men.”

The angel wrote, and vanished. The next night
It came again with a great wakening light,
And showed the names whom love of God had blessed,
And lo! Ben Adhem’s name led all the rest.

    James Henry Leigh Hunt

And this one has held a place of prominence in whatever place I called home for more than 40 years when all other ‘belief systems’ failed me.
