At twenty minutes past the hour John McCain gave it up. He came out with a very nice speech. His fans only booed when John called for conciliation and cooperation. Promising to help Barry govern tells us that he’ll be running for re-election for at least one more 6 year term. I’m sure he sees some role for himself in the new paradigm.
I would like to point out that sunny, dry, blistering hot Arizona drags ass in solar energy exploitation. No big solar farms, no solar rebates, no solar manufacturing or installation jobs. There is no oil in Arizona. Why Does John McCain sing “Drill Baby, Drill” when there is more energy that falls on the ground for free all over his nice office in Mesa?
Thanks any way, John. Lets see if the coming investigations into the latest national Republican economic melt down reveal anything more about Sen. McCain’s involvement in the deregulation of the derivatives market and if it has any impact on his next campaign. Disposing of retirement income is a big part of Arizona’s economy.

I think McCain will retire when his term is up in 2010; Palin is moose meat in Alaska, politically speaking; and the whole broken-axle bandwagon of potential 2012 GOP Obama opponents — Mitt ‘Mr. Asshole’ Romney, Newt ‘The Lizard’ Gingrich, Bobby ‘Gunga Done’ Jindal, Mike ‘Jesus H. Kee-rist!’ Huckabee — will be faint unwanted memories by that time — like a bout with salmonella.
The times have changed radically and the Republicans haven’t quite realized it yet — but they will.
Hilariously, after Obama’s landslide victory that moved into their sacred ground of the West and Old South by nabbing Colorado, New Mexico, Virginia and North Carolina (and the home of the KKK Indiana!), the tighty-righties are still trying to claim that this is a ‘center-right’ country and Obama was a conservative candidate. You mean the guy they told us on Nov. 3rd was the most liberal member of the Senate, and a radical socialist to boot, suddenly became a conservative Nov. 4th after the returns were in?
The wingnuts’ pure self-serving BS has exceeded the line into raving dementia and they ain’t winning no elections in the future selling that crap in a can.
BTW, did you hear that some of the pricey duds Sarah the Terror was supposed to return to the RNC have — whoops! — just plain disappeared somewhere? Ho, ho, that oughta keep them busy beating each other up for awhile.

Yes,I heard that and the wealthy donor who told Palins handlers to go out hire a hair stylist and pick up a few nice pantsuits told the press it was the “Wasilla Hillbillies looting Neiman Marcus from coast to coast” explaining that the Palin camp went shopping for the whole Hee Haw Gang from the first dude
on down to the (Grand?)baby and little Greg Brady the Baby Daddy.
In Usual Neo-Con manner Brent Bozell champion of the RNC called together a crack team of RNC
operatives after the election to call the Media
out for electing Obama and to try to resurrect
the GOP and place blame for the party demise on the backs of Liberals everywhere.
Its like when a gang of crooks get busted in an undercover sting and They turn on each other
and blame everyone else for the crime and for getting caught.
Tragic Comedy,that!

*Update* Bob Novacula Novack says the party is pinning its hope on Newt Gingrich to restore the GOP.
You just can’t make this stuff up!
