I have 2001 Dodge 2500 Cummins Turbo Diesel and I can vouch for the expense.
The beauty part of the diesel is 23 MPG,The bad part is the computerized fuel injection system is a Piece of Shit.
The truck is a mammoth and weighs in at a hefty
8,400 pounds bone stock.
When I stuck My 3/4 ton chevy farm truck in the field,I used the dodge to pull it out.
When I got it up into the yard I discovered that the Chevy was still in gear since I simply backed up to it and pulled it away,The Chevy weighs 6300 ponds and gets 9 MPG on the Highway.
This just illustrates the piss-poor quality of gasoline here in the USA.

Update on the electric Vehicle news,Michelin is building an in-wheel drive system.
This and other systems being developed should help produce electric cars that cost $25,000 dollars and up in 2010.
The Headline reads:”Think $100,000 for an electric car sounds expensive?”
