While many people in and around the NFL are wondering if Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick ever will play in the league again, former Green Bay general manager Ron Wolf is wondering why not.
“If he pays his debt to society, why shouldn’t he get another chance?” asked Wolf, who was the engineer of Green Bay’s Super Bowl championship team in the 1996 season. “Maybe I don’t understand something in all of this, but you’re supposed to get a second chance in this country.”
Bart says: No, not for enjoying the killing of dogs.
Each time Vick set up a dog fight, he knew he’d have the “pleasure” of hanging or electrocuting the loser and that makes him a super-sick bastard.
I’ve commented on the fact that NO black man can achieve fame without whitey finding something to tarnish him with. From Cosby to Sharpton to Tyson to name-your-negro, the white press has dug up something for each and every black hero to be ashamed of and that’s the kind of racist country we live in – but this Vick has to go.
I keep thinking of Sen. Robert Byrd, who has addressed lawmakers often about his love for animals, shaking with emotion during a forceful condemnation of dogfighting.
“Barbaric,” shouted the senator. “Barbaric!”
“Maybe I don’t understand something in all of this, but you’re supposed to get a second chance in this country.”
Maybe I misread the constitution but I do not recall that in the bill of right. Ask “Shoeless” Joe Jackson, Pete Rose or OJ.
