Gawd,I remember seeing that advert to learn to play harmonica.
The Folks made Me take Violin and I sucked at it so badly that They made Me practice in the barn.
I’m pretty sure the livestock did not apreciate
My talent either.
Funny stuff!

Thanks, Rain. As a kid, the only way I got my Dad to get me a guitar for my birthday (a Sears Silvertone acoustic — which was actually not a bad guitar made by Harmony in Chicago), was by using my lawn-mowing money to rent a set of drums for a month. He sensibly decided that an acoustic guitar would be more bearable than a trap kit banged on by someone who didn’t know what he was doing.
When I bought my first electric guitar a couple of years later, that was a different story entirely!
