Conservative media called out

Filed under: Uncategorized — Greg in cheeseland @ 3:03 am

Here’s a nice one. The dittohead tea-baggers got some media coverage, but the corporate media hacks apparently did not know how to handle it. It took a blogger from St. Petersburg to call them out: http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2009/sep/14/tea-party-photo-shows-large-crowd-different-event/ tea_party_photo1

Right-wing looney sites such as Say Anything and Power Line, along with one of their corporate media hacks, Michelle Malkin, said the teabaggin’ crowd was between one and two million people. Many pathologically lying right-wingers used the photo above as proof of that on their BS sites. The truth is, they were lying their asses off. The photo was taken in 1997 at a completely different rally.

It’s not a coincidence that rallies protesting the war in Iraq or anything that the real fascist dogs did were “underestimated” and this one was given full-blown media hype. For more info. check out this one on my Examiner page: http://www.examiner.com/x-23316-Madison-Independent-Examiner~y2009m9d14-Conservative-media-called-out

Even Michelle Malkin had to update her twitter page when the shit hit the fan on this one. It’s about time people are catching up with the lies in the corporate media. Hey Michelle and all you right-wing liars…blow me! It’s about time people are waking up to the crap you smear all over the media in this country.

Thanks to Mike Malloy for bringing this one to my attention!

  1. Thanks for posting this, Greg. I knew when I heard some of the righties making claims of 1 to 2 million that something stunk — especially because one of the parks services people said the crowd was around 20,000 at the outside. I’m just surprised they didn’t try to support their false claim with a pic of an antiwar rally — that would have been the cherry on top of the fictional grassroots cake that are these teabag rallies, to mix some food metaphors.

  3. I saw that this photo was identified as the promise Keepers rally in 1997.
The G-O-Prickons are more desperate by the minute
to remain relevant.I took this picture at the aforementioned event in DC and the turnout of freepers was perhaps in the neighborhood of 100.
Thats bullshit of course but then I have this picture to prove it!
    So,Nyah!
