Well, well, well. Yet another GOP politician was caught with his pants down – literally and figuratively. I wish I had the slightest bit of compassion for soon-to-be EX-Senator Craig but I don’t.

The very same people who are condemning Larry Craig gave David Vitter a pass. They allowed Vitter to admit he had sex with prostitutes and then claim his God and his family forgave him. So it was over. Done – God said so, so don’t ask any more questions.

A Christian moralist who was not so personally moral gets forgiven for sex with female prostitutes. Could it be his sins were not so bad because he was screwing women instead of men? Probably.

This brings us to Larry Craig. He got caught “a la George Michael” in a men’s room soliciting sex from another man. Oops! That’s not so Christian and certainly not something a GOP Senator should be caught doing (yep, just don’t get caught is a message in this story).

A man who voted for the Defense of Marriage act and a for a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage deserves every bit of shit he’s gets when he’s arrested soliciting sex in the men’s room.

Does he deserve sympathy for growing up in an homophobic world and hiding just to survive? Hell No! It’s a choice you see. A choice to be who you are and damn the consequences. Not a choice to be gay or straight. A choice to be a hypocrite or not. A choice to live as who you are or stifle your very being.

Life is full of people suffering because of who they are. The Jews suffered in the Holocaust, and before and after. African-Americans suffered under their slave masters. Serbs and Croats kill one another. People may abuse you and disrespect who you are. But only you can surrender.

A “wide stance” he said. A “wide stance.” For that stupid excuse alone he should be canned. That’s the best he’s got? Not really Senatorial material. What a fucking asshole!
