History channel contradicts itself

Filed under: Uncategorized — Greg in cheeseland @ 12:37 am

Just for the record, I am not a conspiracy theorist. I do however, support a new scientific, forensic and independent investigation into what really happened on 9/11. There are too many questions that Lee “whitewash” Hamilton painted over.

Excerpt:

To what temperature do steel core columns in buildings have to be heated in order to sufficiently weaken and enable a collapse of the building?

According to the History channel, it is both “about 1100 degrees Fahrenheit” and “well over 2000 degrees Fahrenheit.”

Which is it?

The History Channel’s new documentary Life After People points out that steel structure buildings can withstand temperatures of well over 2000 degrees Fahrenheit without being compromised, while in their documentary 9/11 Conspiracies: Fact or Fiction, structural engineer Matthys Levy stated that fires burning “at a temperature of about 1100 degrees [are] sufficient to cause the steel to lose half its strength [and lose] the ability to support the floors above it.”

  1. I should point out two things: One, the steel doesn’t have to be melted, just weakened enough for the structure to fail. And two, the WTC was built like shit with substandard material. Those planes would never have been able to make the Empire State Building fall, for example.

That’s not to say there wasn’t some kind of conspiracy with the bombing, exactly what, I guess we’ll never know. But clearly the actions of the Bush administration AFTER 911 are enough to have them thrown in jail. Not that I think that’ll ever happen.

  2. CupOJoe, you make a good point. Even so-called ‘reputable’ construction firms have been caught using substandard steel, etc. to squeeze out a higher profit. They’ve also been known to cut corners in safe construction practices to save a buck. That may well account for both buildings falling from the impact and fire of a single airplane hitting each tower. But the more I look at the videos of the twin towers collapsing, the more it looks like some kind of controlled explosion, of the kind used in Las Vegas to bring down the old casionos and hotels. And then there’s the collapse of Building 7, which wasn’t hit by anything.

I agree: I doubt anyone will ever do hard time because the true story, whatever it is, will never come out in our lifetimes. Hell, no one was even fired for the massive incompetence (or whatever) displayed that day by the Bush Administration and the American military. The 9/11 Commission spent a lot of money and wasted a lot of time to discover — whoa! — no one was to blame for Junior’s Pearl Harbor.
