  1. Let’s review: ACORN has to shut down because a right-wing propagandist ruined them with some heavily-edited videos showing a couple of low-level employees supposedly advising them on how to commit tax fraud.

The Catholic Church hierarchy has allowed child molesters to operate within the church for many years, paid millions in lawsuit settlements and hush money, and this Pope has condoned by his silence and inaction the raping of 200 deaf boys and yet their doors are still open and Benny the 16th still has a job.

    What’s wrong with this picture?

BTW, that moron Bill Donohue of the Catholic League was on Larry King last night, defending his corrupt Pope and his child-raping priests by saying a majority of the cases involved ‘post-pubescent’ boys. One of the other panelists asked him what the hell he meant by a ‘post-pubescent’ boy. Donohue tried to obfuscate with some bizarre attack on homosexuality, but Sinead O’Connor pressed the question. Three-Dollar-Bill finally ‘fessed up that ‘post-pubescent’ boys meant kids 12- and 13-years-old. This is what this loudmouthed jerk had spent part of the show defending — priests who raped 12-13 year old boys and the church that covered it up. Last I checked, adults raping 12- and 13-year-old boys was still highly illegal in most civilized countries. What a sick piece of work Donohue is, if he really believes his crap.

  2. This essentially proves Bart’s point that these priests must not really believe in God, because how could anyone who believed in an omnipresent, omnipotent being EVER take part in such activities?

  3. I’ve often thoguht that, if the Christian mythology is true, Satan would find refuge in the most holy-rollingest major religion, which would be the Catholic Church, pretending to be the most pious guy on the planet, while rotting the place from within. (And let’s not even drag the GOP into this, but you get my drift.)

My ‘Hippie Priest’ friend who quit the Catholic Church to get married (to a woman!) said they were the biggest bunch of hypocrites in the world — nothing more than a large powerful soulless corporation. And that was long before the child molestation stuff came to light — he was just talking about the anti-peace, anti-poor attitudes of many of the top rank. Go along to get along, was basically what he was told, but God forbid that you should ever try to emulate Jesus. Just hold the hands of the dying, collect the donations, give mass, kiss the ring, and STFU. When he marched against the Vietnam War, or opposed the draft, or suggested that the church should cash in the Vatican jewels to help the poor he was told to stop rocking the boat.

Bart’s right — there’s no way these corrupt animals could possibly believe in the God and final judgment they preach to everyone else.
