I’ve been noticing this rigamarole regarding the “Half Hour News Hour”, over there on what Keith Olbermann calls “Fox Noise”, and I get such schadenfreude seeing the people in Bartcop Nation decry this piece of dreck!
There are only two episodes, so far, and FNC is hoping for people to watch in hueueueuege numbers (Sorry, Bart, I couldn’t resist), so they may give this the green light, if you will.
The people behind this Koresh-awful show claim that most humor shows are biased against the right, yet Jon Stewart and friends say that if there were a Democrat in 1600 Penn, they would go after him just the same.
The way it looks to me is that the right are spoiled brat crybabies who can’t take any humor aimed at them – they run crying to their mothers. Then again, these pains in the tuchus feel that freedom of speech applies only to them (remember Ann Coulter saying “Frankly, I’m not a fan of the First Amendment”, and you’ll know the importance of said amendment).
I can still recall in the fall of 2003, when Matt Groening mentioned on NPR that Fox News threatened to sue him for poking fun of them in a “Simpsons” episode from April of that year. He said that he basically called their bluff, that “Rupert Murdoch wouldn’t pay to sue himself”. Sure enough, Matt was right, the lawsuit was dropped.
Over at YouTube, there are boatloads of posts about the “Rush and Ann” clip from “Half Hour News Hour” that is available there, and the right is trying to get their way. Some even attack Jon Stewart, one even called him “Jon ‘jew’ Stewart”. That person makes me wonder if he’s been reading the infamous “Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion”, which I wouldn’t use for toilet paper – it’s not good enough!
And yet, when I look at “Rush and Ann” together, they remind me of the characters of Brad and Janet from “Rocky Horror Picture Show”; I’ve been to a midnight showing of that movie, and the sobriquets for both Brad and Janet are appropriate for Rush and Ann!
Keep Swinging The Biggest Hammer in all creation, Bart!
