The Answer is Still a Definite NO!

  1. I like this one, RS. I would like to use it in the future as a graphic in one of my pieces. This mess was due in a large part to Cheney deregulating the industry in 2003 after his secret energy meeting in 2000, where he also displayed maps of Iraq’s oil fields and let each corporate pig bastard have their slice of the pie. For now, though, I am trying to stay away from politicizing it because the facts and images speak for themselves. Before this is over, however, (and it may never be) I am going make it clear that this is Bush/Cheney’s and BP’s oil disaster, not Obama’s.

  2. Thanks, Greg, and feel free. You’re right, of course, this all goes back to Bush-Cheney’s ‘hands-off, see-no-evil’ energy policy, but I can understand why you might not want to delve into that area in your articles. (At least not yet.) I only hope Obama begins holding these bastards criminally liable for this catastrophe that could have easily been averted, but my hopes are dwindling. Still, sufficient public pressure and he, and the Dems, might be forced to do it.

The sad part of this is that although the GOP will probably lose some elected offices in the Gulf states due to the BP mess, they’d likely only be replaced by ConservaDems. But that might be a step in the right (or left) direction, anyway.
