9/11 Fraud Giuliani Continues to Campaign on the Corpses

Rudolph Giuliani screwed the pooch big time when it came to getting his city prepared for a possible attack by terrorists. Despite the fact that the World Trade Center was bombed by terrorists in 1993, Giuliani insisted–against the advice of his top people–that the emergency command center for New York City be placed in the WTC complex. When confronted about this inexcusable mistake, Giuliani simply flat out lied about it. (Check out the YouTube video here to get the full depth of this story.) Giuliani’s stupid, criminally negligent judgment caused the unnecessary deaths of countless emergency workers, especially firemen, who basically hate his guts. As Jim Riches, Deputy Chief of the FDNY put it on the sixth anniversary of 9/11:

“He’s runnin’ on his 9/11 leadership and it was lacking and there was none. And he’s not the hero of 9/11. The 9/11 heroes all died that day tryin’ to help people. His leadership is horrible. He just lies, and when you do find out more about him you won’t vote for him.”

Now “Rudy” invokes his phony 9/11 “heroism” at every opportunity. He told the NRA that 9/11 caused him to rethink his stance on gun control. (???) He says that he is the top “expert” on terrorism among the presidential candidates because of 9/11. (What? Wandering around in a daze because your command center has been blown to hell makes you an “expert”?)And now he’s having a fundraiser where the price of admission is…wait for it…$9.11.

By God, enough is enough. This son of a bitch has been exploiting the 9/11 atrocity for his own benefit for six years. He shamelessly and ruthlessly campaigns on the corpses of the World Trade Center’s victims. (The Village Voice has revealed the real Giuliani record on terrorism. This exhaustively researched article nails Giuliani’s lies in a devastating manner.)

Giuliani is just another Republican fraud trying to pass himself off as a hero. He is nothing of the kind. He’s a ghoul who is using the dead to push his wretched political career. My God, what a bloody disaster this bastard would be as president! The Atlantic’s James Fallows has him pegged nicely. Fallows’ reaction to a recent Giuliani debate performance:

Mayor Giuliani, outrageously worse. Is this how he’s been all along? To start with, he doesn’t know anything. To be more precise: not a single sentence that he utters suggests any familiarity with what people have been saying and arguing — about terrorism, Iraq, the situation of the military, security trade-offs, etc — for the last few years. He’s out of date in two ways: He displays the “fashionable in 2003 and 2004″ assumption that if you say “nine-eleven, nine-eleven, nine-eleven!!” enough times, you end all debate about military policy. He displays the “fashionable about three weeks ago” assumption that if you say “General Petraeus, General Petraeus, General Petraeus” enough times, you’ve offered an Iraq policy. And through it all he seems totally self-confident. Hmm, have we seen anything like this combo before?

Yes sir, we have. He’s in office right now. Want a third term for Bush? Elect Giuliani, the Phony “Hero” of 9/11.

But don’t say you weren’t warned.

  1. a.) Love the title! b.) I totally agree. Living with members of the religious right, I know that not even they buy his line of crap. You put it very well.
